This class will break down the anatomy and physiology of the iliopsoas muscle, and the roles that it plays posturally, emotionally and spiritually. Students will be guided through a series of practices to learn how to both strengthen and release tension from this incredible muscle.
This workshop is eligible for 3 hours of continuing education credits through yoga alliance.

Olivia is an E-RYT with a background in therapeutic yoga, dance and trauma informed embodiment practices. Her passion is using embodiment as a catalyst for social change. Holding a MA from the Spirituality, Mind, Body Institute at Columbia University, Olivia skillfully weaves deep spiritual traditions, critical thought and cutting edge research to deliver empowering and well-informed teachings.
Olivia Barber, MA, E-RYT, passionately weaves trauma informed embodiment practices with social and emotional learning as a catalyst for social justice. She is dedicated to using body-based practices to transform systems of oppression through personal and relational healing. She holds a masters degree from the Spirituality Mind Body Institute at Columbia University and has trained extensively with Hala Khouri, Linda Lantieri, Melissa Michaels and BK Bose.
Olivia is a lead trainer and training manager with Breathe For Change and teaches Science of Mind at The Nueva School. She has developed globally-minded, transformational SEL curriculum for THINK Global School, and teacher wellness trainings for the UNHCR Accelerated Education Working Group. Additionally, she has taught yoga and meditation in New York City, San Francisco and Colorado and leads professional development trainings and workshops around the globe.
